Also, I'm going to just put this up here in case anyone ever needs it for reference. My repair guy asked me for this in order to bench test the dash and see if any components are actually damaged instead of just being corroded.

This is a map of the wiring harness wire colors as they plug into the dash, as seen looking at the pins on back of the dash. The black connector is the two left columns and the white connector is the two right ones.

...

That's a nice table. Is it a Guzzi document, or from another source?

But be careful. Carl Allison, a former forum member who produced color versions of many Guzzi wiring diagrams, told me that Guzzi does not always follow its own diagrams: wires on the bikes can differ in color coding from the wires in the diagrams. I found this to be true when I installed an electronic cruise control on my Griso, and Carl told me he was not surprised when I informed him of the discrepancy. (To be clear, the error was not in Carl's coloring, but in Guzzi 's notation of the color on the original black-and-white diagram, at least as compared with my motorcycle, purchased new.)

So don't take any printed resource as gospel. Check to see if the wire of the expected color is attached to the component at the other end.

Here are Carl's colored diagrams, in case you don't have the one for your Breva: http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/sportissimo.html

Ah yes, I had forgotten about that diagram. Thanks Tris.

The table isn't from any kind of documentation. I took the connector apart, which was very easy, and tracked down the color of the wires by hand and eye, which was very hard because all the stripes on the wires seem purposefully installed so that the stripes on them are as well hidden as possible.

I did provide my guy with the image that you linked from thisoldtractor, so that's probably why he wanted to know the color of the wires.

Current update. The guy has finished his work. He said that the LED strip above the screen disintegrated when he touched it, so he had to make a brand new one out of modern LEDs, that's kind of his thing, and he replaced the LEDs on the board as well, and there is a difference.

But then there's the bad news.. it's throwing codes 02 and 05 for the dash, and 01 and 03 are going in and out. I had the bike re-learn the keys and it did so sucessfully, but the codes are still present.

The bike starts up and runs, no issues there.

My current question: is can I ride it if the immobilizer is having issues? I'd like to get the bike over to his house so he can work in the light so to speak.

Morning DG

Is it not clearing the errors or are they coming back.

If the former, mine wouldn't clear an error once (I'd left the air temp sensor unplugged and turned the ignition on  :embarrassed:) and disconnecting the battery over night "cured" it!

The error comes on immediately after boot-up. I tried clearing them and it had no effect; the service light just stays on.

Yeh mine wouldn't clear and only disconnecting the battery for a while fixed it.
