Its not supposed to make economic sense!  Its all about the thrill factor.  Most motorcycle fun I've ever had was my Aprilia SR50.  Binary throttle.  One-finger on each brake.  Brilliant lurch off the line at traffic lights.  Unfortunately burned it up hauling my lard butt over a nearby mountain.

Looks fun but $4000 buys a ton of other things that are just as fun and more practical to boot.
