I'm unclear on the actual "police report" filing.  The only reference I saw to a police report was that a report was filed for them, but not actually by them.  So I'm confused about that part.  Not that their police report, if any, is what made the little water weasel a national embarrassment.

I think the better title for the topic would be "Sometimes it's better to keep it in your pants"

I have the Isuzu truck about 1/4 packed from floor to roof and many more totes filled and ready to go.  Galen (my son) is coming in from outside in about an hour and we'll get these fitted like bricks, a retainer built, and then add rollarounds and bikes.  He's giving me 4 days.  I'm hoping it's enough.  I'm due to fly out for surgery on the 13th and hope I don't have to return.

But the house, boat, and van remain unsold.  The folks who I promised first refusal on the house (and told them it was that time on Aug 1) finally called today and rejected it.  That leaves me with no time to attempt marketing it.  Then I find out that while they had me like a deer in the headlights they were actually negotiating with my next door neighbor for their house.  So much for good faith.  I half expect them to call back over the weekend and try to lowball me.

Sorry to hear that.  BTDT on a smaller scale.  I'll hold a rental for a prospective renter then the day they're suppose to move in, there will be a no show.  No more nice guy.  You want me to hold, I want deposit.

Galen is trying to talk some sense into me about that -- property managers and such.  It's probably a good idea.  Last time I tried to be a landlord I got my property trashed to the point that I took a dime on the dollar for it.  He suggests that's not the best strategy to build a retirement on.

BTW -- he just came in from Post Falls.  Decided to not visit anyone in the area -- still too odd for him.

No, I have not followed up on that.  I missed the opportunity when I was in the area last July.  I'll be coming back through in a month or so and try it then.
