I plan on attending the MI rally. I'll be riding north out of Cincy. Plan on taking 127 up through OH but would would like some routes from the Michiganders that have traveled the area. Like to do a slice of the lake shore on one of the trips.

What are best roads leading north out OH? Dirty, muddy back roads are a plus but I'd like to steer clear of the deep sand! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have a friend that lives in Detroit and his father who usually attends with him every year cannot attend this year… He had concerns about coming alone… Would you be interested in pairing up with him as he is coming out of Detroit and you'll be going right past
If time and mileage is not a concern I would stay low on 20 west ( in Ohio) to 69 N to 96 w to Ionia... Then pick up 66 To Lake City and then take 42 W to Manton... Follow 42 to 37 N. That will bring you to chums corners which is due east of interlocken … Turn west on 31 S. go 6 miles Cyclemoore campground.

You could skip the 69 and 96 part by taking local roads...but do hit 66 it is an enjoyable roll through michigan farmlands and small towns... Mostly just a 2 lane.
There are a myriad of smaller local and gravel roads that will parallel this route should you want to get muddy.

Busy weekend for me. I'll be taking my truck and trailer up 69 to 127 to 115. Have to haul two bikes and 4 days worth of gear. Dropping off some stuff in Shepherd when we drive by then up to Ellis lake resort. Don't mind if someone wants to tag along but I'll be moving fast and taking expressway because I have so many miles to cover.

Friends tell me I'm not a good traveling partner. They complain I ride too fast and take the longest routes to get anywhere.

I doubt I'd be good riding company. Sorry

I'm looking for those secret back road routes. I never travel by highway except to work. Cause I'm always running late!

I'd really like to stay glued to two lanes and dirt/hard pack as much as possible.

Make your way to 66 then follow the route I mentioned. You can parallel it on smaller roads and gravel roads all the way north
Remember Michigan is the meca for gravel roads and hills climbs

Drive as fast or slow as you want :)

Just loaded up the show tent's with Scottie Ducati and bro for next weekend... Our AMCA is planning on having some bikes on display adjascent to the pavillion.

Doug Nelson and I leave Thursday for Green Bay and onto the Rally on Friday. I was hoping to make it a two Loop frame adventure but I can't get mine running 100% for the trek from MN.

I think we had 62 total register.

Great weather Friday and Sunday... Not so much on Saturday.
