I love this place.

Where else but Wild Guzzi would you find people populating a thread about what flies near their house?

That's neat GJ !  Planes, birds, and bugs.

Accentuate the positive;
Eliminate the negative;
Latch on to the affirmative;
Don't mess with Mister In-Between.

Do you live on an airport somewhere...I see some guys here near Hooks Airport in NW Houston practically live in their hangars...

I presume the first one is a Sikorsky sky crane or something similar?

Cool pics!

I was expecting flying saucers.   :grin:  Those Chinooks always amaze me, they have no business being that big and being able to fly.

Actually I live about 40 miles north of Wichita in the country. There is an airport (Newton) about 6 miles south and a bit east of me. The crop duster shots are local crop dusters working fields around me. I am more or less under a number of east and west airliner flight paths so that is where the airliner shots come from. The military helicopters are from Ft. Riley near Manhattan, KS. Training flights where they usually fly to the Wichita airport, due some touch and goes and then return, once again I am right in that flight path. Had a formation of six one day. The rest of the shots are for the most part planes on landing approach to the Newton airport.
The Newton airport was once a Naval air station in WWII training B-24 bomber pilots. Due to it's size and location from Wichita the Newton airport is used a lot for shakedown flights of new aircraft and for transition training. There is also a aircraft restoration center there and hence the occasional like new classic flying around on shakedown flights.

I live 2 miles uphill from Kona International Airport.  Most of the time the wind blows so that the flight path is perpendicular from the house.  When it shifts sometimes the flight path will be over the house parallel to the volcano but that very rare.  Commercial & general and some recreational flying.  :tongue:
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

Heard a growl of a merlin grabbed the camera and wondered out onto the back deck. Overhead we had the second mosquito on it first test flight with a spitfire escort. once I have sorted posting pix will put a couple up. But had excitement today with a T28 Trojan on its test flight have to do a belly landing due to the gear not come down.

 I live in a rural area and many days in the afternoon or early evening military helicopters fly over at what I consider low altitude...Sometime s one, sometimes three...Then a few days ago three C130's in formation flew over... Lake Ontario is 3 miles to the north so maybe it's a flight pattern ?
