Got lit today

My Breva 1100 that is.  Installed a LED kit on the bike today.  $45 on Amazon and a hour's worth of installation and this is the result: 







The pictures really don't show the lights that well as it is much brighter in person.  There are 16 different colors as well as a whole host of flashing patterns along with always on.  For night riding, I'll just be using white or green.  I don't want the po po pulling me over for using the red or blue even though they look the best IMO.

Yes they do.  The kit comes with a keychain remote that operates all the functions.

Bring it down to the GRIT rally so we can see it.

OTOH you can have music to go when you light the front rim, then the motor and then the rear. Have it so you can change the colors and music with your remote control. I'm amazed by what some do.

My first thought was "What are we coming to?   Here we are on WG talking about some stupid sort of Biker Boyz Bling, looks like it should be on some horrible extended-swingarm ZX-14 ...."

Then I thought "What do I care how stupid it looks if it even improves someone's chances of  seeing my by 10% at night?"

Then I thought "That really doesn't look so stupid."

Originally, I thought the same thing too.  "How idiotic!" but seeing in person at night does raise your visibility factor to "Whadaf*ck is 'dat?"  If you ride a lot at night then it may help.   Swing shift and graveyard shift people riding a motorcycle to work.  On the downside, it could attract more interest from the local constabulary.    Easy to install.  Low draw on the electrical system and not real pricey.  Might be an option for some.  I could see it drawing interest from the MGX21 crowd.  "Paging Luap to the white courtesy phone!"

Remember that many states have specific statutes prohibiting use of "underglow" lighting on the road or in traffic.  Most places they can only be used while parked.  That is not to say people don't use them in traffic, just that if I did I would be sure to get ticketed. 
It could also be handy for high speed night runs..  after you zip through the radar trap turn them on or off and change your appearance..  lol

Definitely no use of blue lights, PD.  Red lights, FD.  Yellow, emergency.  At least here in Hawaii.  The other colors are open for use.

...and hit the Buy It Now with 1 click button!      Red...definitely red, when parked outside the Italian Cafe...it will make it easier for cars not to back into you by accident.  I probably wouldn't use it when driving, but it's a cool idea for when parked...

Believe me, I struggled with the first thought you had and visions of stretched out 'Busas and ZXwhateveristhebigg estnumberIcanget, kept me up at night.  Then, a funny thing happened, I saw a much older than me gentleman on a BMW K1200lt that had them installed I kid you not.  At first I did a double take to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was. 

As I was processing what I had witnessed, at first, I was kind of depressed wondering what we had come to.  I then realized that I had first noticed him much further away than I probably would've otherwise and came to the realization that while not all that bright necessarily, just seeing some sort of lighting I was not used to seeing made me take notice of him.  While this can be seen as detrimental when it comes to the local law enforcement, I've got 3 young boys and ride as such if you know what I mean and being noticed is a good thing in my book. 

Honestly though, other than the BMW, the only other times I have seen them was on a few crusiers.  I can't recall seeing them on supersports, at least around here

There's enough nooks and crannies on the Breva to hide the strips and wiring.  The only place you'd see the strips is on the underside of the frame tubes that go back towards the rear.  The rest of the strips are hidden and not noticeable in the least, during the day. 

Ok, now raise your hands if I've at least planted the seed in your mind!
