Where do you live?  (maybe put at least an approximate location in your profile)  I was just commenting today that the leaves are just barely starting to turn here.  When I lived in the DC suburbs, the leaves were falling fast by Halloween.

There are well behind in WNC as well... Halloween is generally regarded as the "end of leaf season" up here, but the leaves are still clinging and the tourists are still pouring thru Asheville
