If so, what size and model? Stock is 140/80-17.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I can't seem to find a 140-70- 17 shinko for my calvin. They show a 140-80, I guess if I'm going to go with shinko I'll have to go with that. A couple of the guys here advised the 140- 70 handled better.

Have been running a 130 90 Shinko on my Jackal for years . Handling is fine , although they do wear out after 7,500 miles . Of course I tend to run 85 and 90 MPH quite a bit , and usually have camping gear strapped on , so ...

I'm on my second Shinko 712 on my EV. About 8,000 miles on the last one.

Did run one 230 , prefer the 712 for handling . The 712 has a rounder profile than the 230 , which seems to roll over more easily . Don't expect any of the less expensive Shinko tires to last like a pricey touring tire , but they work well .

I've used Shinkos on some of my other bikes and I have no problems with them. I just wanted to make sure I got the right size and model to fit the EV. If I get 8,000 off the rear I'm happy with that.

Thanks,

Thanks to all for your responses. I went ahead and ordered a Shinko 712 size 130/90-17 from American Moto Tire and should have it next week.

Good choice. I run a 712 130/90 on my Jackal and a 712 140/80 on my Calvin. I think I prefer the 130/90.

I have search the internet far and wide and I cannot find anyone who offers a 140-70-17 shinko, for the rear of my calvin. Anyone ever had one or can point me to the dealer who may offfer them. Thanks.

My EV has the Shinko 712 150/70/17. I don't believe Shinko makes a 140/70/17 so on my Vintage I am running a Kenda 140/70/17 and also have a Kenda on the front. Both new. I'll see how they do.

Thanks Tony, yea mine came with the 140-70-17 Kendawhich is probably a good tire and reasonable priced however I wanted the shinko. You think the shinko 140-80 will fit my 07 Calvin with no problems?

I'm also running 712s on my EV. 130-90 on the rear. I haven't been  putting  many miles on lately and replaced the 880s that were on it because they were rock hard due to age. $117 for a pair delivered to my house seems like a great deal. So far I've been very pleased with them, even in the wet.

I'm running a EV wheel on my Quota . I'm running a Shinko 705's. I ran Shinko 712's on my V Strom . Excellent Tire. I got 2(Front and Rear) for under $110? I do mine own tires. Rears don't last long 4500 to 5000 miles. I was getting 2.5 front tires for every rear tire. Excellent value/performance for the money.

Yes, the 140/80/17 will fit your Vintage. My Vintage came new with that size tire.
