"Tom - I was going to say something snarky back concerning counter steering - but I won't now. Still, is there any other way to steer a motorcycle? LOL - this may be worse than an oil thread. "

No problem.  Go snarky.   Yeah, there are other ways to steer a motorcycle but not conducive for quick turning.

From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

I also own a 85 LeMans, and she still has her original setup with the 16" front wheel. I always liked the way she handled in curves, but also keep in mind that I don't carve canyons with this bike either. I didn't know that some people had issues with this setup until I came across a thread one day where a old BMW mechanic stated that when they came out new, the 16" front wheel LeMans was the scariest bike that he had ever ridden!  I for one will keep the 16" front wheel on my bike, since I also feel that the issue may not be so much the wheel size, but the choosing of the correct tire and pressure. However, knowing that any 16" front wheel bike will turn quicker into curves then a larger wheel bike is something to also keep in mind.

BT 45 tires are bias ply.  Don't remember any radial tires made for the LM IV sizes or any airhead BMWs.  Radials are only available in wider, lower profile tires.
