No need to apologize Troy , here is why I even knew his name .

Circa 1970 the Tulsa CBS station was broadcasting the Mannix TV show right before the local news at 10:00 . There was a well known local sportscaster named Mack Creager who was known as sort of a character , and he was sitting in the studio working on his spot . He was in high spirits after showing some friends around the studio , and was interacting with a cameraman . Right before the end of Mannix , they were doing some checks , and the cameraman either accidentally or on purpose flipped some switch that showed his camera shot live on TV instead of just in the studio . Creager , as was his habit , was flipping the bird , so for a brief few seconds , the viewers in Tulsa were treated to Creager smiling and , well , flipping them off . Offshoot , the players involved all received a week off W/O pay , and upon returning , they shot a scene with Creager holding up two fingers , like he was counting down to air

As an aside , for years the rumor circulated that the cameraman was one G Ailard S Artain , AKA Mazeppa Pomazoidi , and Ernest's best friend in those silly Ernest movies . Truth is , Gailard had already left the building , although to the best of my knowledge , he never denied being involved, added to his reputation for being a jackass
