 I agree , this is moving into investor territory , and if two guys want it it will break 100K . Like art work , or rare pieces of antiquity , the prices brought reflect some other set of rules than most of us understand .

Personally, I'd value it more highly without the scribbles - now, if they had all signed the owner's manual or some other relevant paperwork associated with it, that would be worth something along with the bike!

I was at a local estate auction some time back.   One of the items was an old "Spool Chest",  a low chest with narrow drawers in which seamstresses would store their thread spools and sewing stuff.

I'd been to enough of these auctions to know that this was maybe a $300 item at the time.   The auctioneer started it at $250, and it went up fairly slowly to $400, at which time only two women were bidding.

These women were cousins, bidding on Grandma's spool chest, and apparently there had been rivalry for years as to who would get it, since it wasn't left to either of them.   NOW the bidding went up $100 at a time - past $500, past $1000, past $1500, past $2000.   

One of the women was cool and collected, bidding instantly and quietly every time.   The other was getting emotional, and was talking to other people (probably getting them to back her bid) on every bid.

At $2800, the one woman turned and stomped off in tears, and it was hammered down to the calm and collected one.   I sidled over to see what I could hear.   Someone asked "How high were you planning to go?"   

She said "Whatever it took, doesn't matter.   I'd have mortgaged everything I have to get that chest instead of her."

So if you get someone like that bidding for "reasons you don't know", you're doomed ....

I'm still calling $70K the market value ....

To be valuable it has to have lousy brakes, a leaking m/c and lousy paint.  In other words you will be buying a bike that can never be ridden again.

About 17-years ago, a guy from Tennessee rode his original 750SS to Eureka Springs to "Ducati Fest", a Ducati rally that a friend and I put on for a few years, there.

It was pretty awesome to see someone riding and using such a rare and original bike.

There was a fleet of Henderson fours on the Cannonball (9) and they made up 4 of the top 5 finishers. Frank Westfall rode his 1912 to victory covering all the miles, even though 2 days was on only 3 cylinders. Amazing bikes.

One of my acquaintances has a Henderson KL that has been in his shop disassembled since 1969.  I've been trying to get him to put it back together.

It has the Henderson sidecar on it, too.
