Tubeless tyres CAN be used with tubes - no problem. The V7C's chromed steel wheels REQUIRE tubes - the rims are not airtight. Get good quality tubes - I use Pirelli or Michelin mostly. Do ensure that you check that the tube sizes are correct for the tyres. I run them at 36psi front & rear & 38/38 loaded or with pillion.
Tyres - I've settled on Avon Roadrider AM26 for both V7s. Good performance in both wet and dry & for the way I seem to ride, long lasting - averaging 20,000 km on the rear & 55,000 km on the front. I have also had decent life & performance out of a Pilot Activ. A mate has put a set of Avons on his V7R and he's very happy with their handling. It's going to be interesting to see how long they last for him - he rides quite a bit harder than I do.
