My Breva's got grunt!

On the one decent day for riding last week, I was able to let the baby Breva stretch her legs for a little toot.

I live about 1 1/2 miles up hill from the "village" (all of about 7 or 8 houses) with about an 800 foot elevation gain.  I've come up that hill on a few different bikes now.  My CB500X is a 6 speed - but I'm always conscious of the gear I'm in.  I usually start up the hill in 3rd  if I'm carrying any speed: otherwise 2nd. The previous bike, a 650 Vstrom was unhappy below 4k rpm's, so it was always 2nd.

Coming up my hill on my 5 speed Breva the other day, I wasn't paying much attention to what gear I was in other than to listen to a happy engine.  I love that the bike has such a broad spread of power that I don't have to pay a lot attention to the gear to have access to power.

 Anyway, I got to my driveway expecting to be in 3rd but upon downshifting, I realized that I had cornered and started up my hill in 4th!  I never tried accelerating or I'd have noticed, but no strain, as I was steady on the throttle. Amazing!  Another way I love my bike, but i'm not counting...

I'll take that feeling over all the hyped-up 'horsepower' claims ever made!

Yeah, the 750 Breva has very linear power.  Nothing peaky about it.

Curious and still learning - does the 750 Breva have the Herron Head or
Hemi?

Baby Breva has speed also. Had it out this weekend to test out the Vetter Quicksilver fairing. I was going head on into wind and watching the windsheild bend toward me when I noticed I was doing 95 and didnt know it.

Has Heron head, but with it's fuel injection which automatically adjusts to altitude changes unlike the early big  block EFI motors and it's power is mostly the same no matter the rpms.  Mine does up to 105 mph .  It's no missile but efficient for the street.  I've even ridden 2 up + loaded with mine on long trips w/500 mile days on stock seat.   I have a 2/3rds Rifle fairing, 40L bags, top case on mine + tank bag.  Sorry, can't show you a pic.

Don't want that - Dusty. I will keep on scratching the itch!

That linear power makes for an enjoyable ride. On mine the motor gets a bit busier around 5000rpm but not much. Sometimes take it to 7000 just to hear the "sound" it makes.
