La Franconi for LM 1-2, fit on LM 3-4-5?
« on: April 20, 2017, 05:05:19 PM »
Is there any reason, other than maybe making a mounting bracket extension of some sort that these would not work on a Le Mans 4?

Is it a swing arm length issue, or is there something else I'm missing?

I would guess that the brackets won't work because of the swing arm length and the cross over might be a problem too.

I think you should call MG Cycle and ask them.  For what it's worth I have a Zard full system on my Lemans 5 That was made for a Lemans 2 or 3.   It fits great except losing the side stand.  But that was because of the pipe diameter at the side stand mount

I have these :

which need a H pipe crossover, and still needed some hangers fabbed up to suit. No complaints.

Ok, thanks guys. I did talk to MGCycle, and they also directed me to the ones Bazil linked. They just come in chrome though.

I have these on my CX and the Lafranconi Competizioni on the 1000S. I like both, but the Mistral's are louder if that is a concern.

Thanks, just looking for a deep natural tone, so maybe the Lafranconi Competizioni? Which ones do you have on the 1000S? Same as the Bazil link?

I have the Lafranconi's on the 1000S. Either muffler should be fine, but I have to say that the Mistrals are a tougher pipe in terms of material.

. True that. Bought stainless Mistral mufflers from Agostini just about 20 years ago. They have been on 3 bikes so far and still in great shape.  Probably best  m/c exhaust $ value for me in the last 40 years or so.

Thanks again guys. I'll have to try some mistrals on a project some day. For this one (LM 4 SE), I needed black, so I just sealed the deal with a guy in Italy that had and older never used set of lafranconi for the 4. We're just working out the shipping details at this point.
