Rims for a 2004 EV
« on: June 01, 2017, 07:05:57 PM »
I have a buddy with Chrome pealing on both his EV rims, He is looking for set in good condition or some tubeless Aluminum ones to replace this faulty set. Any leads would be great!

How about powder coat them ? easy and not much expensive compared to what a good set of wheels will go for.

just a suggestion....

If wheels from a 2004 Stone will work I may have what he needs.

Try ebay for used ones. If no luck, powdercoating is a good method to restore them.

I have the same issue on my 02 EV,  Anybody know how to remove chrome plating besides grinding or sanding it off?  This could be a future winter project for me.

Stone wheels are different. Tube type on a Stone, tubeless on an EV. Front one may fit but rear is very different.

If wheels from a 2004 Stone will work I may have what he needs.

the trouble is don't you have to strip the spokes out to do a proper powdercoat? turns it into a bigger job than you want during riding season.
