After having it a couple months, thought I'd give my impression... Got the white, black, red version of the dainese SPR from the local mg shop (since I bought my bike there they gave me a discount). Was originally looking for a perforated leather jacket but didn't like the weight and heat (maybe I'll compliment the spr with a winter leather jacket later). The spr is a textile/mesh hybrid touted to be a 3-season jacket... guess that depends on where you live. It has first rate armor in the elbow extending along the forearm, shoulder armor with aluminum 'sliders', and pockets for back and chest armor (you have to buy it separately). Two or three types of mesh and a tough but breathable textile help mitigate heat and sweat. All the fittings are top notch though I wish the main zipper were a bit larger.
Firstly, it's comfortable but feels substantial. Much more than my Bilt mesh jacket (an unfair comparisons though). The SPR isn't really a mesh like the Bilt jacket. It's more of a very nice textile with strategically placed mesh panels.. and very good quality mesh. You can google the specs, I don't want to be repetitive.
Riding in cool morning air (65 F give or take), it needs a thin under layer. It's very comfy over a t-shirt up to about 80 or so. Lots of air moves through but not as much as a full mesh. During a few 90+ F rides, I never felt uncomfortable until sitting in traffic and that was quite tolerable (for me). In fact, I don't recall any profuse sweating and any sweat quickly dried once I got moving again.
Style-wise it's a sort of 'muted' sport inspired design and it is pricier than many similar jackets, but it really does work for SoCal weather. I think it's a keeper.
