Another Sidestand Question
« on: August 17, 2017, 09:45:55 AM »
Any recommendations on lubricant for getting the police side stand to move smoothly? I had to do a little rehab on it and it is a bit stiff to retract.  Bearing grease, chain lube, or what? I don't want to make it worse by attracting grit to it.

I keep mine dry.  Anything you lube it with will attract crud.  If the sticky is annoying, I'd find the source and fix it -- maybe a burr or ding in one of the contact parts.

On the farm we had to have dry lube, also used a slip plate paint that had graphite in it. I'd try an AG shop, they have a spray that dries.
