Make sure you watch the video.

He seems a bit ignorant as to how the bikes electronics can be set, to me.

What a plonker, riding it like a sport bike when it's not . I don't own one but did take a ride on a demo recently and liked it.

He should be given some riding instructions if he is too lazy to read the owner's manual.

The flashing light for gear change reminder is user settable, it is initially set for about 4,600 rpm, but once the bike is broken in a bit, then it is suggested to place it higher to your liking.  I think it's a good spot to change where it is, but I might reconsider when I've got a few more miles on the odometer.

The traction control is kicking in because the front and back wheels are not traveling at the same road speed.  It is for his protection, that's what traction control is for, but it can be made less intrusive or even disabled.

This is why I take little notice of moto journalists and their opinions.

It's not a review, it's his first candid thoughts during the very first time he throws a leg over it. The article even says a full review is coming at a later date after they have more time with the bike.

That said it's a pretty good first POV, I don't fault him for not knowing every dash setting on his first ride, after all, how many times have we been asked what NAINT flashing on the dash means on this forum?

1.  Just becuz someone calls him/herself s "moto journalist" doesn't mean they actually have the qualifications to claim the title...

2.  I stopped subscribing to almost all bike & auto enthusiast magazines precisely because 98% of the authors either "tested" without any regard to the real-life use of the products tested or, alternately, only acknowledged that with few snarky comments about how the great unwashed masses of potential owners could be happy with the tested bike/auto only because they aren't "real" enthusiasts.

This is a great example of how anyone...and I mean anyone...can do a review of a product and have an audience on the Internet.  It is not necessary to have any experience or information, just post whatever random thoughts you have and the world is your audience.  This happens all across the spectrum.  Want to see some gun/car/tool reviews?   You can find someone to reinforce any opinion you already have.  Let's not get too concerned about his lack of knowledge or skill.  We like the bikes.   This is such a niche market that his thoughts won't make much difference.  The few people who are interested in a V7 III won't take much notice of this 'review'.

Those "kids" ought to never ride anything but full-on sport bikes.

The adjustable flashing shift light has been on most if not all new Guzzi since at least 2006!  Thats over ten years that this tech has been in use, and I suspect, Guzzi is certainly not the only mfg to offer this on their motorcycles, how could he not know this?

Why take seriously a writer who leaves two uncorrected errors in the lead page? Does this person not have an editor?
"The V7III hosts a huge list of changes from the V7III"
.... reads like the same machine to my eyes or maybe he saw a yellow one.

One may write one's destiny but the unknown delivers it.
