Recall of V7 and V9 for brake line issue

NHTSA has posted recall notice 17V380 for 2016-17 V7 and V9 models for a brake line problem. The front brake line apparently routes in a way that allows it to rub against another part, leading to line damage.

Summary

Piaggio Group Americas, Inc. (Piaggio) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Moto Guzzi V7 III Racer 750, V7 III Stone 750, V7 III Special 750, V9 Bobber and V9 Roamer motorcycles. The front ABS brake hose may rub against the engine's secondary air system connection, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

Remedy

Piaggio will notify owners, and dealers will secure the front ABS brake hose to prevent it from rubbing. Any hose that has already been damaged, will be replaced. The repairs will be made free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in June 2017. Owners may contact Piaggio customer service at 1-212-380-4433.

Received my notice of this recall yesterday for my 2017 V9 Roamer. I contacted Erico Motorsports in Denver, where I purchased the Roamer last summer. They seemed dazed and confused; my call was the first they'd heard of it, they would need to figure it out and would call me back. I'm still awaiting their call back. Then I contacted Moto Guzzi Ft Collins. Jim, the fellow I spoke with there, was very helpful and took a quick look online, where he verified the situation, took my info, including vin # and mileage, and ordered the required front brake hose support kit to fix the problem. Seems dealers cannot order these kits without a specific motorcycle that requires it for this recall. I also called the Moto Guzzi Customer Care helpline and inquired about availability of this front brake hose support kit. The fellow I spoke with assured me the kits are available and as soon as a dealer requests one or more (with the proper vin #), they are ready to ship.

This all sounds good - we'll see. I'm leaving next week for a little 4,000 mi ride to hear concerts and attend rallies. Hope I have a front brake!

Jack, out of curiosity, did this all get all sorted?  I just saw there'd been a recall back in June then I found this thread.  Wondering how on-the-ball the various dealers have been.

A few weeks ago, I took my new Roamer in to Moto El Paso to have the first service done at 900 miles (I will do it from here on out). While they had the bike, they did the front brake line fix and also put the new aft mount footpegs on.  No charge, and no big deal. But I have noticed that with the small fixes, there is a 12% increase in power, and a 17% improved gas mileage figure. Got 33% more waves from Harleys than before, and have 8% faster stopping. I am eagerly awaiting the next recalls...
