Rossi out for a while

The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

The term 'displaced fractures' is used - as I recall, that means a compound fracture where the skin isn't broken. Fairly serious...

Bummer, would have been spectacular if the stars had aligned for one more championship. I'll root for Mav then.

I think it's premature to assume anything..........b ut I've  found bone cracks take longer to heal than bone breaks.

Retirement is getting ever closer for a superb career!

I was concerned over that too. He's 38 years old, this could put him out the rest of the season, he just completed his 300th race with a podium finish. Last thing he said is he would go as long as he is competitive and enjoying the racing.

Definitely still competitive, and appears to still enjoy it. I never like seeing a guy who was a top performer hang around on reputation well after he is no longer able to be competitive. But Rossi, even at his age, is still putting together top shelf results. I expect, if he heals up well, he will be back and fighting for podiums.

SO he had his leg pinned, and will miss 2 races. He'll be back for Motegi. No way Rossi will retire, his ego is too big, and he will want an entire season to do a "retirement victory lap". I figure he will announce this winter that next season will be his last. Just can't give up those VR46 hat sales...

 I believe you are correct
" I figure he will announce this winter that next season will be his last. Just can't give up those VR46 hat sales..."
He also gets a percentage on yellow smoke cannisters! I'm surprised it will be two races and not sooner, hey, a couple of plates a few screws, safety wire and back in the saddle.......He's Rossi!

I stand corrected, thinking fracture meant cracked.  :embarrassed:

Glad to be able to say I have been to a couple of MotoGP races and seen him race.  Saw him podium at the last Indy race.
