Hope GuzziDad made it through his 1st Hurricane. Wavedog is most likely cutting up down trees w/chainsaw. Looks like heavy stuff just left. Been windy here & rainy all day.
FL guys, good luck. Hoping storm surge didn't get ya.

We spoke via phone to our neighbors in Clearwater, Fl.  We were VERY LUCKY !!!!!  Some power outages but not nearly as bad as the Keys or Naples.  Brother in law lives in west side of Tampa and lost power last night. Still not repaired but the buildings for the most part held up great.

Tampa Bay area dodged a big bullet.

Right now NHC has Jose's winds bumping up against Atlantic coast of northern Florida. Yikes. Jose is going to do a loop to loop and come out headed west by NW. So far models show it just missing landfall in the SE but that could change fast.

Another 1st for me! At about 10pm the eye of Irma passed overhead. No major damage..
Power went out at 2pm it could be days before it's restored. Sun is out now........ I'm going for a ride. It's good therapy.

Guess I got lucky here in the middle of Tampa. We never even lost power. A lot of wind and rain. Worst part was it hit at night. No damage to the house.

Same here. Downtown Tampa. Never lost power. Was afraid for these south and east facing windows. We thought we would need to re-do.

My folks are in Punta Gorda. My mother said she slept thru this one. They got hammered by Charley in 2004.

Power and internet came on about an hour ago. 26 hours without power this time versus 5 days after the last hurricane. Tomorrow I will hop on my Kymco 150 scooter and take Excaliber, my chainsaw, and go clear some debris from a few homes.
Lots of branches, fences and a few trees down. I was glad that I covered the windows because there was stuff thumping the house all night long. The roof appears to be in good shape. My house was surrounded by water but it is receding (soaking into the ground). I think we got lucky on this one. Hope the folks on the west side came out ok.
