Eldo pegs and floorboards
« on: September 18, 2017, 12:42:26 PM »
Looking at eldo project.
Are pegs and boards easily interchangeable on eldo or is a major factory frame mod?
Thanks

No "interchange" like the Tonti's because the loop has no removable lower frame rails.

There are floorboard kits that do the mod, though.  DB made one, and I think Wixom did.  All the kits I've seen either mount the FB on the foot peg mounts or are mounted on rails that then mount to the lower frame.

Kickstand can be an issue in these mods.

As David says, unlike a Tonti-frame on which the footboards mount directly to the lower frame rails, the Loop footboard set-up consisted of a pair of "subframes" which mounted along side the lower frame rails. If you can find the complete original factory set-up, the swap from 'pegs to 'boards isn't difficult. It is best if the "police" left crashbar with mount for the long sidestand is used as well.

Here is a photo of most of the parts, missing are the engine bolts and the brake shaft.

MG Cycle offers this footboard kit which works quite well:

Yes. Eldo footboard mount to separate rails that bolt to the frame. Pegs mount directly to the frame. They swap out with 0 problems, if you have all the parts, including linkages and brake crossover rod. Different splines on the crossover rods.

You didn't mention which way you are going. To pegs or boards.

Charlies photo has the parts, but some are not positioned as installed. For instance the mount rails are upside down which causes many of the parts to be either upside down or on the wrong side. Or I'm looking at a RH shift floorboard??

Charlie, not ripping you, just wanted to point this out to someone that may look at the photo as installed parts. Thanks for taking the time to post the parts photo!!!!!! You have enlightened many of us as well as myself!
