American Eagle was the creation of Jack McCormack, the marketeer who was largely behind Honda's 1960s marketing. The American Eagle Laverdas, like all American Eagles are not identical to bikes sold as Laverdas. This motorcycle appeared two years before the famous Vetter Hurricane, which has been generally credited with introducing the concept. Furthermore, AE was on course to introduce an idea called Unicon custom styling, offering alternative body components that would convert the Renegade to a two-up streetster or a pack-carrying trail machine.Here's another American Eagle that interests me (I wouldn't mind having one), based on a Kawasaki. The bodywork is somewhat similar to the Renegade.
