Motorcycle dreams , or it's all Michael D's fault
« on: December 14, 2017, 04:42:54 AM »
Hmm , there was a motorcycle dreams thread , or did I just dream that ...

Had a discussion with Mikey D last night and we were talking some Tulsa history , and Shorty showed a photo of an old Triumph , then Guzzisteve show that pic on the AJS (?) , and Two Wings starts telling us about his motorbike origins , and well , my mind starts going in my sleep ...

Anyway , let me get this down before it all fades , although like most of my motorbike dreams it will likely repeat in the next month , yeah , I'm a bit sick

Actual dream sequence ; For some reason I'm riding bitch behind Chris (Two Wings) on a pre unit Triumph , and we are way out in North Tulsa , except we aren't because the old sand plant is on our right so we gotta be on the Arkansas River , (remember , this is a dream) . We enter the sand plant for some reason , and Chris goes in the office , I mill around in the employee parking lot which looks like a scene from 1968 , a Sportster , another later unit Triumph that apparently belonged to me (hmm , that explains the "riding bitch" thing) , a couple of BSA's , maybe a 305 Honda . Guy rolls in on a '71 OIF Triumph , immediately jumps on the pre-unit belonging to Chris , rides away before we can stop him . Shorty and another friend from Tulsa kind of appear on the scene , and before we can chase after the guy stealing the pre-unit he rides back up , locks up the brakes in the gravel parking lot and crashes , and breaks his left foot . (That's gotta have something to do with Fubar's incident , and maybe Stormtruck falling ofF John's Tigger) . Anyway , Chris seems to know the guy , and runs over to offer help , Shorty , or was it Mike D says something funny , and I wake up laughing and wondering WTF

So should I seek professional help , or tell about some of the other motorcycle dreams from over the years . Or are some of you gonna tell us your MC dreams .

Stay tuned , it might get weird

Considering the dream took us back to 1971 , and we were in Tulsa , probably Cities Service 20W50, and I'm guessing the tires were those round black things that OTASCO sold

Funny, I've never had a motorcycle dream. (?) I've had a few flying dreams, but they didn't utilize any machines.. except for seeing the paint scheme in Mouser..

:laugh:Mine were always flying something resembling a giant frisbee

It is strange that no one else seems to have motorcycle dreams , or is afraid to admit it because they don't want to be judged as weird

It was a Norton Dusty. I remember the thread. I taught myself to not have dreams(or maybe not remember them). After the 1st wreck in 70 I was having wreck nightmares. I have had a few though.
One was while riding my Triumph to Daytona in 76, dream was about the ride. I dream't someone stripped the bike in the motel parking lot. I abruptly woke up and looked out, everything was fine.
Another was shortly after buying the 84 LM3 and was more than once. I modified the LM to have wings that pivoted and swung out w/a big lever. I would be riding along above 80mph and pulled back on the lever, up I went higher and higher in the sky, then glide back to the ground.
OK, your turn!!

During my worst nightmare, I dreamt I was in the driveway behind my childhood home looking over at a nearby building that was partially hiding the darkest and most ominous sky I had ever seen. The building then collapsed in a cloud of dust as a humongous tornado ripped through it heading straight for me. I was paralyzed with fear, and I clung helplessly to a rigid hydro conduit that was mounted to the back wall right next to our garbage bin. Oddly enough, as the tornado approached my only thoughts were on how to save my Triumph motorcycle that was parked on the far side of the bin.
Then I woke up in complete darkness to the earsplitting sounds and sensations of our house groaning and creaking from an actual earthquake. I've never been so terrified in my life.

Someone was yelling "shut the f$ck up Donny."

Then there was the dream with the Buick Roadmaster motorcycle . Dark blue , factory sidecar , inline four cylinder engine , basically half of the Buick inline eight cylinder , Buick slush drive , light tan leather seat and sidecar upholstery . The plot of that dream was a trip to Conway N.H. for a blues/jazz festival accompanied by a nephew , no idea where that one came from , but the detail was amazing .
