Perhaps time for MG to clean up their official US website

Unless the Stelvio and Griso are still in Guzzi's 2018 product mix, it might be time for someone at Guzzi to do some site clean-up.

US site still lists the Stelvio and Griso on their current USA website.  If they're trying to assist dealers in moving leftover 2017 (maybe older) stock, might as well include the Norge.  I'd think there might be a leftover Norge or so out there.

My guess is it is a combination of helping move old stock, laziness, and perhaps not wanting to make wholes in the line as obvious until say maybe there's a replacement for the Stelvio in the form of a V85 or something akin.

We had a conversation earlier that suggested the Griso, at least, would be sold in the US as a 2018 model in order to use up existing stock that can't be sold in the EU due to the new regulations there.

The VIN lists the model year.  According the Code of Federal Regulations the model year is:
(j) Model Year means the year used to designate a discrete vehicle model, irrespective of the calendar year in which the vehicle was actually produced, so long as the actual period is less than two calendar years.

That tells me Guzzi cannot call an unsold Stelvio or Norge a 2018 model since the VIN is going to show it as a 2016 (I think that was the last year they were produced).  A buyer should expect to get a significant discount but I suspect that would, for the most part, fall on the dealer.

don't worry, they update every year or two.. sometimes 3.. I mean really how many years did they sell bikes with the faulty fuel filter/hose in the tank, about 5? maybe more, just sayin..

That is the last Stelvio from Vancouver area as far as I know.

International Motorsport owns it, but I honestly was surprised to see that Stelvio in the show and yes it’s 2017.

Griso didn’t make to the show but they also has the last one of new.

European countries usually get new Guzzi models a year before the US does.  What are we really questioning here?  The price of a new bike to you?  If you could buy a brand new leftover bike would you buy it if you really wanted it all along and got it with the same new waranty?

Honda still has 2012 ST1300 on its lineup along with 2014 CTX 1300, Interstate, Stateline, etc

Last year, I saw a new 2017 Griso 1200SE on the floor at Pro Italia in Glendale Ca with a 2017 VIN plate.  It was beside a new 2015 Griso with a 2015 VIN plate, this one was a couple of thou cheaper.  I thought the last Grisos were manufactured in 2015.

I questioned the dealer, but he just smiled, and agreed when I suggested it is cheaper to update the VIN plate rather discount the bike.  The question I wondered later, is this possible (or legal), and who would be doing it if it is?

Who cares really if we get the remaining bikes in Nth America, we seem to be last on the list for the new models but they shouldn't replace the Vin plate just sell it as new and be up front about year of manufacture, I would buy one if I was in the market.

You might be better off coming home to NZ to buy one, Roy.  I purchased my brand new 2015 Griso last year for NZ$18,500.  Removing tax (GST) and converting to US dollars comes out around US$11,500.  Set up fees are included in the price in NZ too.
