As discussed, the police crash guard doesn't mount. Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to get the Stucchi guard for the Norge.

You piqued my interest about the crash bars so I've been looking.
It's quite possible that the parts shown in the thread I posted earlier will mount on an 8v Norge, it will require drilling the fairing. It appears that you would need parts 5,6,7 and 8 in the diagram. I wouldn't order them without talking to someone in Europe who has installed them. I don't blame you for wanting some protection. The Norge fairing is quite tender!
The bars shown will not protect the lower fairing, they mount high as shown in this photo. They are more accessory mounts than anything like what I would call a crash bar.

You may not like them anyway, the crash bars are a source of unpleasant vibration given how they attach to the frame and cylinder heads, I had a pair of Stucchi's on my 2V Norge for a short time and sold them to another owner shortly thereafter. Some people might be ok with the extra vibration, but I was not, it made the bike rather unpleasant to ride.

Norge's are so stable and well mannered, they never fall over.

They are indeed...gyroscopic ally superior models...they stand all by themselves, and if they lean, it's just a bow of respect to their owner! :)

I don't know about at speed crashes, but every time I have dropped my Norge the bags protected the engine heads and I'd rather deal with a crunched bag than a new head.

I have dropped mine once in a parking lot and once entering my drive (non-paved) after the road maintainer had been through leaving a high dirt berm. Just some scratches on the bags, corner of the fairing up front and slight scratch to the valve cover. Really don't notice any of it unless closely looking at the bike or washing it.

but I'm not having any luck finding the parts. Based on the conversation here, I'm wondering if it was a custom job. Looks like a German owner based on the sign behind the bike.

It looks like the small plastic deflector do-hickey over the heads would have to be removed to install the bars but I wouldn't think that'd be very hard (famous last words). Based on pictures I'm seeing, older models don't have it but the newer ones do. Heat management?

Givi used to do engine guards for the CARC bikes, but they don't appear to be on their current listing.

Maybe you could track down some old stock somewhere

Years ago I got a set of crash bars for my CX100 for lower fairing from MotoMecca Spares in UK when no one else had any.

Arizona Wayne, thanks for the tip. I didn't see anything today but that looks like a place where the odd part can turn up unexpectedly. I'll check back from time to time.

You're not missing much honestly, these OEM Crash Bars ( STucchi) were beautiful to look at but as my post above says, created a horrible vibration on the Norge. It went from a smooth bike to intolerably vibey, to the point where I wanted to sell the bike and initially thought something had gone horribly wrong in the tune up I had done at the same time as the bars were put on them. Once I checked all the other settings, I was only left with the crash bars as the item I changed, and as soon as they were removed, my beloved smooth Norge was back.

Save the $400-$500 bucks and buy some Clearwater lights or other LED's or some other farkle or a good seat, but the crash bars are a waste of money, and badly designed in my view. The one friend I know who does use them on his Norge carries a ton of extra bolts since they are always vibrating them loose...

YMMV...just sharing real life experience.

Oh, I didn't realize the Stucchi WERE the OEM bars. Yes, I definitely care, and thanks for calling that out.
