New Zealand exports almost 3 billion dollars worth of Radiata pine millwork a year.  It's native to California and was introduced in NZ in the 1850's(probably from miners relocating from California after the goldrush).  Most of the pre-hung, solid interior doors in new homes are sourced from NZ and Australia.  Same goes for the pine trim for sale you see while wandering down the aisles at Home Depot or Lowes.  I always thought it was interesting that pine trees originally from California were grown in massive plantations halfway across the world and then shipped back to the US in millwork.

"Central African Republic" exporting delivery trucks?

That's total B.S.   There's NO manufacturing in the Central African Republic.   A tiny amount of electricity, no roads to speak of, one of the poorest countries in the world.   They can't even export the fish they catch in the rivers.

Why post this stuff?

Fiji: water (12.4%)
Until now I figured the brand Fiji Water was a marketing ploy, just filtered L.A. tap water in a fancy bottle with a label "Fiji Water".  It's crazy to transport H20 that far.  I'm happy to say I'm not a customer.

LOL.  One international airport in a landlocked country with 265 miles of paved road.  Per capita income is $400 a year and their main export is diamonds.  Yeah....I don't think they're building a lot of trucks.

Seems you guys over shot the runway.     It's surprising major exports for different countries.  Not necessarily for the whole world.  They are surprising.  Maybe the total trucks exported is only 4 but a poor country's major export.   Maybe they assemble them there from imported parts/truck chassis and cheap labor then ship them out.

Does NZ really have that many cow for milk powder to be the no. 1 export for the world?  More like it's their major export compared to all other goods shipped out.

While not a major export, there is an island in the pacific where Cuban mahogany trees were planted many years ago. They are now cutting and selling the wood from those trees. Not much per year, but enough to make a beautiful piece of furniture.

Cuban mahogany is the king of cabinet wood. Last exported from Cuba in 1959, none since. America's best cabinet makers, Townsend and Goddard from Newport Rhode Island, preferred it. It looks like a deep rich cinnamon. Truly beautiful.

The Central African Republic is the 178th largest export economy in the world.  https://atlas.media.mit.edu/en/profile/country/caf/
Out of the total  exports The most recent exports are led by Delivery Trucks which represent 26.3% of the total exports of the Central African Republic.
So the statistic is correct but their Delivery Trucks are not 26.3% of the world but 26.3% of their total exports to the world. So the author made it sound like the CFR is a major exporter of delivery trucks to the world. But the real statistic is out of all CAR exports to the whole world deliver trucks make up 26.3% of their exports.. 2 Very different things.

I know, I read the same text.   It really makes it a meaningless statistic.   A "base-rate" fallacy.

Estonian language is close to Finland (Nokia) so not that suprising they made a lot of phones there although I'd doubt they still do.

One other surprising export. Iran - pistachio nuts. Which is OK because I don't eat them.

When civil war breaks out I guess anyone who can, grabs a truck, loads it up and gets the hell out the place?

Iranian pistachios are the best.  Some of their exports used to flow through Turkey where the origin was changed to read Turkey to circumvent the sanctions on Iranian goods.
