that is an outright STEAL! JUMP on it.. and don't be afraid of the mileage, they do go forever.

plus that's only his asking price.. tell him you need $500 to ship it inland and offer $2500..

Thanks for the lead..I've seen this one before...but then, it dropped off from CL and figured it had gone to a new home.  I'll follow up on the particulars.  Would prefer that he keep the bags and fairing and negotiate the $$$ from that point.....I assume there would be some marketability for those items???

I have a Pearl white Calif. special however it really is a Bassa tubeless rims adjustable front suspension and all that stuff that makes it a Bassa 60+k miles in North central Arkansas that might be up for trade goods, It's a very nice running bike but with 7 in the shed we might could make a deal, I might think about items in the 2nd amendment or something that has a motor and wheels. Mine isn't a show piece but it is a solid runner.

Buy watever  special  floats your boat, have it painted a beautiful pearl white with quality  urethane paint. The Italian paint is  of poor quality. anyway.

Neil,  When did you leave South Dakota?

Marc, If you're still looking in May when I get back to MN, I've got a show piece that I might be talked out of......

I have contacted the VA. owner and he would sell his Bassa less the bags and fairing; haven't yet talked about any $$$ figures.  I don't think the distance between TX and VA would be a big logistical problem...I'd really prefer to personally look at anything seriously being considered and this is not the best time of year for transporting a purchase.  I already have a 75th Ann. with bags and have never used them.  I really prefer the "no bag" look; windscreen is certainly useful...fairing not so much.
JOHN, I don't foresee doing anything before May and what you have certainly meets my minimum requirements....don't know where you are located these days (lots of MN folks here in the TX Hill Country right now).  Anyway, I'd like to talk with you further about your Bassa when you "come home to roost".  Should we continue to rely on this forum for future communication on the subject???

you won't go wrong buying John's bike, it's spotless and meticulously maintained. I have been wondering if I should buy it, but won't get into a bidding war... so buy the other one, please.

My favorite white Bassa story is.....  I'm riding home from Sturgis on my Ambo in a line of antique cycles, west of Watertown SD.  In a flash, a white Bassa goes by in the opposite direction.  Neil Smith had/has the only white Bassa in the state of SD.  You realize quickly in the Guzzi universe that the world is small.
