Harper Moto service on later model bikes?
« on: February 27, 2018, 05:39:18 PM »
I am contemplating a purchase of a later model MG.  Most likely a Breva 1100 or 1200 Sport currently running and roadworthy.  I want to have it shipped to a good shop conversant with known issues on these models to give it a post purchase inspection and remediation.  After that, I'll take care of routine maintenance myself.

Harper's Moto is within a four hour drive of my AO (72701).  I know they have a good rep for parts, especially for the "oldtimers" but I have not heard anything about their service department or even if they're interested in later model bikes.

Would they be a good choice to sort out my bike?  If not could you suggest a good shop within 250 miles of NW Arkansas?

I stopped by Harper's a couple years ago, while passing through on my way to Iowa Rally, on my 2009 CalVin . Curtis went above and beyond to get me back on the road, even coming in on his day off. Throttle body sync and a few adjustments and it was better than new. I'm quite sure they can handle most any issue on most any Guzzi.  Good people. If you are that close just drive in for a visit first.  Think you will be impressed.   Just my .02 ................... .....

I have been dealing with Curt and Mike since 1989. They have always been fair to me. Highly recommended. And yes they can handle your newish bike.

They rollerized my Norge, repaired the leaking oil line, serviced it and repaired my muffler. No complaints. Also did updated mapping on it.

Moto , appears you are in the Fayettville area .

Harper's or as TW suggested Brookside in Tulsa can take care of you .

When I first met the H's I had just bought a V50, I rode in to the farm and I know I had to ask some STUPID questions, those guys could have cleaned my clock--But Alice wouldn't let them

Dealing with Curtis and Dad (Mike) have been a pleasure for me.  They have genuine parts, no substitutes, and they are knowledgeable about the bikes. The big thing is they are courteous, friendly and polite.

Mike even took me out to lunch and paid for it while I was waiting. Haven't had another dealer or shop do that.

I’ve not had Harper’s work on my bike, but every time I’ve dealt with them has been a positive experience. Their stock of Guzzi parts is comprehensive. Even obscure parts like an odometer reset knob was available without a long delay. A bike of the B11’s vintage is right in their wheelhouse. Harper’s is one of the most respected outfits in the American Moto Guzzi paradigm.

Been to their "compound", and bought my '83 850 Le Mans from them a few years ago, and have bought lots of parts from them.   :1:

Curtis and Mike are good people, very knowledgeable, and true "Guzzisti" in the best definition of the term!

Does anyone recall if Harper's typically runs any spring specials around this time of the year?

The kind words are much appreciated from all of you. We do try to make each experience as good as we can. Moto, if you would like, just give us a call about what bike you may be looking at and we will do our best to guide you. And John, since we have thrown a few back over the years, trust me, the questions got more stoopider as the evening progressed. But we'll do it again I'm sure.

I would since I finally got the bikes sorted out. But the daughter is coming home for the weekend and although I haven't seen you in a while she takes the win on this one. Is Saturday your normal ride day? I can make that work from time to time.
