Seeking help

I’ve received an email from someone who tells me he lives in Plano, Texas, and is seeking help in tracking down relatives in Leeds. There is someone of that name who lives and works in Plano. Does anyone here live there and  could give this guy a call and check if it was him who emailed me. I don't want to fall for a scam.

 A couple of questions .

 How did this person obtain your Email address , and why can't he/she simply track down the lost relative in Leeds ? Could be legit , but caution is certainly advised .

I’m secretary of my Masonic Lodge and he emailed the Lodge website, saying he’s a Mason in Plano. I’ve googled the name he gave and there is someone of that name in Plano. The Plano Lodge Secretary isn’t answering my emails to him asking for confirmation. He probably suspects that I’m not genuine.

Probably legitimate. The Plano lodge secretary is out riding and not checking his emails. 
If the guy isn't asking for money or trying to take up all your time, there shouldn't be anything to worry about?

Sounds fine to me. If I were looking for relatives & I were a mason, I'd be well tempted to take advantage of the network. Isn't that what it's for? Amongst other things.
