2014 California Touring SIMPLY SHUT-OFF ?
« on: May 08, 2018, 08:14:14 PM »
(2014 California Touring)  The bike simply shut itself off twice??? Rolled up to a stop sign engine quit, stopped to take an image by river simply quit?  Could this be the overflow gas canister paying games?

Was it particularly hot? Had you recently filled up with gas? When it shut off do you mean it stalled? Or just didn't want to start? If the latter how long was it parked.

More and as much info as possible. It'll make it easier to diagnose.

A faulty tip over switch (under the RH side panel) can cause the same symptoms..
Easy to bypass or just remove altogether.
It’s not fitted to European models..

Or just stick carbs and points on it somewhere. Then you’ll be able to mend it at the side of the road and make it make a zillion horsepower. Speedo? Pffft.get one of those ones that runs off a friction wheel on the front tyre.

Arse!

They shake at idle so maybe a loose plug wire?  Are the valves tight?

If it died and no restart or turn over, the I'm thinking faulty ignition switch.  Common problem.

Good luck, Tim

I take it you mean it will restart? Just stops at idle? More info, please..

Did your bike come with the security key fob? IIRC, there is a plug you can insert to eliminate that. MAYBE, that, (the fob), is giving you grief???????
