I've no clue how the rubber mounts are secured, but sometimes there's a rod that goes straight through and the rubbers push onto it.Wondering if that has not been bored straight..?
Each mounting puck is held on to the frame by an 8mm shank 6mm Allen bolt. There is a spacer in the puck so that the bolt bottoms out and doesnt deform the puck. Its the bolts that are occasionally loose. I dont know if the factory has started loctiting them on later models or not but they are worth checking if the tank is off and adding a drop of 243 if there is none.Pete
The pad under the rear tank bolt on my bike was turned 45 degrees when I bought the bike and the tank has a little bit of a lean. When I went to correct that I found it's easy to have it spin when you tighten the bold so you have to hold it in place. Having that pad properly oriented when tight seems to stabilize things and keep the tank from shifting.
My final prep task for the day was to remove unnecessary reflectors.
Didn't know there were unnecessary reflectors.
Didn't know there were unnecessary reflectors. I always add extra lighting to my bikes. Also reflectors to hold on the license plate.I guess the cagers where you live are a lot more observant than where I live.
