I always see those tiny cars and think "what a death trap"! Then I put the throttle to Anni and race away. :thumb:

That's funny right there.

This looks like the new direction for trike donor material.  It's already got 3 wheels and a motorcycle rating, so a guy should be able to make a proper trike out of it with minimal fuss at the DMV.  If they increased power 30% and doubled the range they'd have me.

If they doubled the number of seats, they'd have me.  I really like this direction in manufacture- small, efficient.  I drive 5 miles to work- why would I want to use expensive gasoline when I could use an electric car for pennies?
Yes, for those who bring up the 'you have pay 10K to buy into it', I do get that, but there are larger considerations as well.

I agree.

Unfortunately for conservation of resources, most of the rest of the population does NOT agree with us Guzzi weirdos.

Very many of us enjoy sporting motorcycles, where even if they have fancy new engine management systems, are still sort of bare and functional, like a Griso v. a Gold Wing.

Many of us would buy a bare, unoptioned automobile that would perform well and not have a lot of gewgaws on it, if it performed well and didn't burn much fuel.

But that's not how the public rolls, the ones who spend the money that keeps the car makers afloat.

Crewcab Dually F250s, Cadillac Escalades, Range Rovers, Ford Expeditions, Dodge Ram 3500 Turbo Diesels .... these huge, cushy monsters getting anywhere from 12 to 20 MPG are what people are buying.   They're what's filling up the roads and sucking down the fuel and (tangentially) making life a little more dangerous for those of us who choose, in the interest of economy and cost, to acquire smaller kinetic energy weapons for highway use.

Yeah, I know that even some people here on this list are like "F*CK YEAH, THIS IS AMERICA, BURN THAT GAS, I'M ROLLIN' COAL BUDDY, ROLLIN' COAL, GO FOR IT!" but that's how most of the country rolls ....

.... and neat little 70 MPG commuters are probably not going to make it.   I don't commute any more so I'm on a bike, but most commuters want a big cushy barge that's safe for THEM when they hit something while texting ....

This is why Ford decided to stop manufacturing sedans and concentrate on the SUV market.

Good news!

I was bummed when I heard the Aptera Closed.  I always liked the modern aero(plane) styling.

This is why Ford decided to stop manufacturing sedans and concentrate on the CUV market.

Fixed that for you.

They're adding Crossover Utility Vehicles to replace the small and mid-size sedans in The USA.

They're not expanding the existing SUV line.  Expedition/Navigator.
