MN Rider Down
« on: July 11, 2018, 09:51:52 PM »
Long time MN Guzzi owner was victim of a left turning car.  He's off his leg for 3 months (tibula fracture). Scapula reconstruction & broken wrist.  Looks like 3 months minimum to get out.

Send him a card, He'll be real appreciative.  If you're in the neighborhood stop in, he loves visitors!  He not into surfing on a computer so time passes slowly!!!!

I'm bumping this back up to the top - went and looked at my postcard collection today and found one with an envelope, I'll get it in the mail this weekend.

It will make me feel better than it does him probably
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Lot of truth in that statement!  Amazing how doing something for someone else helps with our mental outlook.   :thumb:
The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

Rest assured your thoughtfulness is not being wasted... Ron is the most positive, appreciative guy you'll meet.  He's upbeat, positive and smiling all the time with the staff helping him through this journey which could well last 3 months while his tibula heals.  He's not said anything but he's very active in the AMA's Grand Tour Series and had a number of stops to still make for this year so I know he's missing that for sure.

Well, let's not stop at one then ... anyone who's sending, send one a week or something.   Three months on your back or in a cast is a long time ....

(Guzzi content) You could bundle all of them up and send them to him in one box - probably get a good deal on postage that way

I got in to see Ron today and he was smiling!   He was telling another visitor about the get well cards he got when I walked in.  He is very appreciative of the cards he's received.   Someone from TN wrote "they hope they took care of the driver of the car" or something to that effect .... that had Ron and Karen laughing for hours....they were chuckling still today telling me.    They were both "teary eyed" over the well wishes and comments from the senders.   Ron cannot use his arms to type you a Thank You... so I'll pass along his and his wife Karen, who opens them for Ron to read, heartfelt thanks!!!     :thumb:

Just back here to get the address again ... queuing up cards two and three.

Fun to have an excuse to buy any card I like, write something silly in it (vaguely related to the situation) and send it to somebody I don't know.

Yes but its a generally accepted practice to not write it out so the bots and spiders don't pick it up as they scour for that stuff
