Moto Guzzi sure built some interesting bikes over the years.  I guess I am now understanding why many of you old-timers are disappointed with the current offerings.

There's not a bike made that I wouldn't have.  :bike-037:   Pay a premium for is another matter.

I kept my nephews Star 650 classic for a year while he was overseas and rode it once in a while to keep it moving and although I wouldn't buy one, I told myself that if that was all I could afford I would be happy with it.  If it has an engine and two wheels I'm good with it.

Plenty of machines I have no use for. Not worth the floor space in my garage.

The 2013 V7 has "upgraded spark plugs" is that really a selling point?

Certainly a nice collective of motorcycles but the prices are not what I'd consider anything other than a starting point for negotiations to begin.

Swan Ride? Nov. 4? Now that's the power of positive thinking. And the name? That's got to have a story, no?

I have no use for any motorcycles.  They are my toys.  I have a use for my tractor, chain saw, truck, etc.  Motorcycles serve no useful purpose.

I could fit about 30 in my garage.  If only I could buy one plate and move it to the bike I am currently riding.  That is the one thing that keeps me from having too many bikes.  $100 a piece every year adds up quick.

Pennsylvania is inexpensive. $19 per year for non-antique and one time fee of $120+/- for an antique registration. Insurance wasn't all that bad either running about $70 per year per bike with not a lot of coverage. But it all add up and 4 antique and 5 modern bikes at one time was my breaking point. Not so much monetarily but there were a whole lot of bikes only getting ridden 150 mile per year and mostly sitting around sucking up space. Also ranking them in a 2 car garage the ones in the back tended to stay in the back as it gets to be a PIA to move 6 bikes around to access one.

Now down to 5 and still want to move a couple more. As each year comes to pass I'm finding less is more.

I'm jealous.  Here you can get a vintage/antique/classic plate at 25 years, but there are strict stipulations on when and where you can ride it.  I found that 6 bikes was my limit.  I've had 8 at one time because I was buying before selling.  Now I am down to 2 street bikes and one vintage trials bike and trying to fight off the urge to add another bike since I am no longer commuting or touring on two wheels my riding has dropped substantially from the average of 25,000 miles a year I was putting down for the past 10 years.

PA has stipulation's on Antique usage as well but its not strongly or remotely enforced.

Probably upgraded plug wires and boot on the V7.  There are issues with stock.

I see some smokin’ hot deals.  For example, bet you can buy that “ Instant Guzzi Collection” as a package deal.  Centauro, EV and V11 Sport for around $10K.  How’s that NOT a deal?

Even if you got the 3 afomentioned bikes for a total of $10,000 I personally think you've over paid.

99% of Guzzi's are buy low,  sell lower.

Therein lies the downside of Guzzi ownership.  They are a lot of bike for the money -until you try to sell.  I’m tempted to make an offer on the red Centauro, but I think a market price offer for a 59k mile bike would probably insult the owner.  And I say that as a Centauro owner.

It’s because most Guzzi owners are cheapskates. They want to pay lowball prices until it’s time to sell their bike(s).  The ones that aren’t cheap have the nice bikes in their garage.

I think its more of an "obscure brand" with a abysmal dealer network that effects the value of these little gems.

I do not think that cheapness is the explanation.  I think the low prices reflect the fact that Guzzis are a “you ride it, you fix it” bike.  Men in my generation grew up fixing their own stuff.   Generations following mine were not raised with that attitude.  When my computers at work act up, I call the IT guy - I do not even attempt to fix it.  That is the attitude of most riders now.  You cannot own something like my LM V or the Centauro with that attitude -you would go broke and get high blood pressure from the frustration.

Some think that the electric starter ruined motorcycling by letting non gear heads into the club.  I wonder.

Tough crowd!! No wonder guzzis do not sell.  Better keep it than sell it for nothing.  So what if you pay a few hundred $$ more. Life is short.

1. The Green Centauro will not start.  Cause unknown.

2. The Silver Sport is of unknown mileage as the speedo show nearly no miles.

3. The Cal. has a leaking gas tank.

Each one is a project bike.
