Dreams about your Guzzi

Do you guys (and gals) ever dream about your Goose? I never have, before last night at least. I was "riding" my '76 T3 from a rally in West Virginia (I live in Wisconsin). I was two blocks from home, the bike started running funny, I looked down and saw the left header separated from the cylinder, and orange "heat" shooting out. Since I was so close from home, I continued riding, carefully, and when I got to the top of the hill leading to my house I shut off the ignition to coast; but doing so (in my dream) led to raw gas shooting out of the exhaust stub, which ignited and shot flames into the headlight assembly area. To put out the very noticeable and scary flames, I ditched the bike in a large snow bank that was conveniently located next to my house. The next day, I took the bike to the local shop to fix. They told me that the flames had probably so weakened important metal bits that it would be best for me to buy a new bike. They also said that the fact that my taillight didn't light up probably meant the bike was a total loss.

The funniest part of this weird dream is that I have a local shop that would deign to look at an ancient Guzzi. I have no idea why last night would be the night I would have such a dream. We are at the end of the riding season here, and maybe I have been wistfully looking at the bike in the garage thinking "you should really take her out one last time...".

I still dream about Rollonda, my first Guzzi.  Rollonda was a '70 Ambo.  In my dream I'm either coasting through red lights while hauling up on the brakes as hard as I can, or I'm coming down Far West Hill in a fog, unable to stop for the stone wall across from the T intersection at the end of the road.  The latter almost happened, but in my first car, a '67 Dodge Dart, not on a bike.  And the Dart's brakes were fine.  Rollonda was named that because her brakes sucked.  She'd just roll on as though grabbing all the brakes possible appeared as a sticky note in her in-box.

This is one of those weird things that can make you believe in strange coincidences, or at least in deja vu ("it happens when they change something").

Hadn't even seen this thread till today, yet last night (for the first time I remember) I dreamed about a Guzzi.  It was MY Guzzi in my dream, although I don't own one like it.

I dreamed I was walking in the woods behind my house, and found a nice brown G5 parked in some bushes, and realized that I had left it there some time ago and forgotten that I'd left it.

No idea why I dreamed any of that, but that's what dreams are for, apparently.

Not Guzzi but I did dream I had my 1st car back, a 69 Camaro. Got in the car and someone had ripped off all the gauges in the dash board. Dreams are strange

Dreams are really strange things, both in the way they quickly fade out of your memory, and the way they seem to "purge" your brain of worries, guilt, etc.   Hard to prove any of it, though.

Like reflexology.   I do a couple reflexology sessions every year at a resort we go to, just because it feels good to my feet.   (Reflexology is based on the theory that different parts of your feet are connected to different parts of your body through your nervous system, and that working a hard massage on your feet can affect legs, elbows, neck, head, knees, etc).   I could sort of take or leave the nerve connection thing, because the reflexology workout seems to reduce the ongoing neuropathy (numbness) in my old worn out feet.

Anyhow, the reflexologist worked over my left foot, and as she got to working on my right foot she said "you really seem to have a lot of congestion and soreness in your right shoulder - have you notice a problem there?".

Now there's NO way she could have known that I had spent the day before pounding my right shoulder with the stock of a Browning 325 Grade I sporting clays ..umm.. clay-breaking device .... to the tune of over 125 Winchester AA 12g shells, and it was a bit sore and bruised up.  Not enough to make me flinch and act stiff, just a bit sore; I had a long-sleeved shirt on, didn't have a phone she could track me with, and she didn't know anyone I knew.

And she figured that out from deep-massaging my right foot.   Maybe she was just "trying it on" and hit the target, but ...... ?

Anyhow, I'm a believer till I find out different ....

Oddly enough, had one last night. Nothing special though... just a recap of the ride my wife and I had the other day... we just cruised up and down all the country roads around here at about 60 km/h. All the rows of grain drying on the ground, farm equipment doing it's thing, bare trees and that colour  the sky seems to get on cold crisp autumn days.

it was a nice dream.
