Seeking [FOUND !!] Salvage CARC for '07 Norge
« on: October 26, 2018, 04:03:46 PM »
20181028: UPDATE: FOUND ONE !  Thanks to one of our fine Wild Guzzi forum members.

Thanks to all below who stepped up to help.  - 'Geezer

==========================
Hoping somebody out there has (or knows of) a salvage rear drive pod from a 2007 Guzzi Norge 1200 (2-valve).

Don't really need the front half - the swingarm part with the enclosed driveshaft - just need the rear half that has the bevel drive.

Yes, my new-to-me Norge "1200" shat its CARC drive at 39,000 miles.

Sounds like a blender chopping ice cubes.   Ouch.

Pete has written about this very thing.
He suggests (I think) that it can be the nut has come loose and dumped the pre load on the pinion. He mentioned it happened once to him and he limped home.
After doing up the nut and locking it using "never come off again you bastard thread lock" things were ok. I hope he reads your thread. I'll keep an eye and ring him today for a response if you wish.
BTW.
They are on e bay often, and surprisingly inexpensive considering.

Any CARC bevelbox will do. The only differences are in the colour of the cases. Paint is cheap and easy.

I have a spare CARC that I can let go. I comes from a 2012 bike with front end damage.

Since I live in Norway - the shipping cost can be a little high, but send me a mail and I will respond with pictures and shipping cost and price for the unit.
