Front Brembo brake pad recommendations on a '08 1200 Sport?
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:08:00 AM »
Planning on replacing front brake pads in the Brembo calipers soon. Any recommendations? Saw a video where the guy uses a Copper stick and rubs it on the back of the pads to reduce squeeling. Has anyone done that? I've never had squeeling issues.

If you never had a squealing issues I would not worry or bother.

I prefer the organic pads by Brembo...less hard on your rotors. Others folks may have other preferences but I use organic Brembo's on all 3 of my Guzzi's

I'm in agreement with Flower King for the reason he stated. However, if you prefer maximum braking, then EBC HH pads will be what you would want.

Thanks for the feedback. I just checked all four pads and they have plenty of materials left on them. Amazing after 34,000 miles with them and no squeeling or pulsing. And I use the front brakes more than the back! I think I'll let sleeping dogs lie!

I also recommend organic pads for excellent modulation and excellent power short of racing requirements. I use:

Ferodo Platinum Front Brake Pads 2042P (FDB2042P),

available from af1racing.com for $35. Easier on the discs, longer lasting, and easier on the wallet than sintered. Less costly than the Brembo option at mgcycle but at least as good as far as I can tell.

EDIT. Oops, too late for the OP.
