Sometimes dinner isn't so complicated
« on: March 10, 2019, 07:40:15 PM »
Tonight,

Sausage, fired potato's and chicken thighs

Boil the "little bit o' garlic sausages in beer in a Dutch overn on the kerosene heater. For years I've been using the kerosne heater to heat the garage this year when heating the garage I've been also using it as a heat source for cooking.

Pototo's sliced up with diced onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper and oil into the cast iron skillet onto the BGE

Sausage out of the beer and sliced into 1/3rd's

Sausage onto the BGE to brown over lump charcoal

Plated up and ready to go. Aslo had some hicken thighs leftover from last nights dinner so a quick marinade in Soy Vay (worlds best chicken marinade) and grilled to compliment the sausage and potato's.

Also had several Luksusowa potato Vodka tonic's during prep then a couple after dinner for good measure.

Bon appetit

Soy Vay Veri Teriyaki is a game changer. You'll crave it! You'll go to the ends of the earth to get it and every piece of chicken you eat after trying Soy Vay will be lacking w/o it! Yes, its that good!

Had to look up Soy Vay as I had never heard of it.  Looked up the ingredients and it sounds good.

Will have a look in our local Asian supermarket.

Around here WalMart and BJ's Wholesale club carry Soy Vay along with a few of the chain grocery stores.

...and it's Kosher!

Weber makes a Mesquite rub that is also excellent on chicken.

An eon or 2 ago I hauled liquids of all kinds; sometimes to places you would hope to go only once. Such was Port Reading, NJ. Soy sauce you say?
Creosote? Those activities were literally side by side. Does your telephone pole taste different? In contrast a nearby alcohol plant was spotless. 'til the guy with a bucket of Benzene turned up.   R3~

ok, these threads are killing me
I think we need a midwest Guzzi Rally built around cooking. Or call it a Ohio River Reaper Rally? Given that the Ohio is born in PA, (as is 'our' recent affinity for smoked meats) and touches OH, IA,KY,TN and IL, where lots of Guzzisti roam. I'll provide the camping space and keep Steel Cut Oats in the crock pot all weekend, Perazzi and Chuck, you guys go to town on all of this stuff.

I've got a stone fireplace with a kettle hook and a 19th century dutch oven. You guys can decide what to do with it.

Why Reaper Rally? Has a ring to it, doncha think? And if it's elusive to Perazzi and desirable...good enough for me.

My neighbor is an organic vegetable farm that provides for local farm to table eateries. I get to help myself. I don't even know what I'm lookin' at. But they're pretty.
