GOODRX?
« on: February 20, 2019, 11:58:17 AM »
Has anyone here had any experience with GOODRX?

My insurance company keeps going up on our deductibles for RX drugs.  Several of wifes meds can cost over 400 a month with our insurance deductables.

Looked into GOODRX and their web sites show their price cheaper than our deductibles.  Seems to good to be true.

so has anyone had any experience with them?

In my area goodrx is just a searching tool for the best deal in your area. You can search by your zip code. But I use it to get an idea of cost on any new thing the doc wants to feed me. I have found that some of the part D providers are a bit sneaky about there level of what they pay. I switched from a provider the first of the year whose game was to change the drugs level of coverage after you have signed on with them. No way they can lose money, ever.

Mexico.  We get lots Our medicine from out side the U.S.  Anti cancer drug, $275 a pill in U.S.  $10 for a bottle of 100 in Mexico.  Why, it is a patent drug with only one U.S. Manufacture.

Also, some drugs that are prescribed for humans can be bought labeled for animal use and a massive savings.  Many of these are sold on fleabay and amazona.

I do not do any pain meds, but they are hard to get anywhere. Along with some steroids.

Well, some things make you wonder.......
From a newspaper headline, could be relevant, I don't know:
"Criminals now make more money from these counterfeits [medicine] than they do from illegal drugs such as heroin and cocaine"

The article here, could be something to it, I don't know. But I know I'll try to not take any chances with the medicines I buy.

As Fish stated, Canada is the answer.  In addition to branded drugs at enormously reduced prices, Canada doesn’t allow drug patents to last as long as the US so generic versions are even less expensive and available years before they are here.  Several members of my immediate family and I have purchased prescription drugs from Canada.

To the OP.....absolutely a great experience! I check the app before my pickup at the counter every time...even on long term prescriptions and have been cutting my costs in a big way... just show the coupon open in the app to the pharmacist at the register

Works well for me.

I go to GoodRX, find a discount coupon. Print it. Take it to the local Krogers. Get a $300 cholesterol medicine for $13.

Too bad the greedy companies do that overpricing.

Yes. Go check the tags and labels around your house. Most will not say made in America.  Along with the content of your drug cabinet, food cabinet, refrigerator, medical equipment in your doctors office, hospital and piece of shit

I have been using GoodRX for about 9 months, and at least for the few drugs I use they have done an excellent job of helping me find the best prices. When combined with Costco's pharmacy, the prices can be phenomenally lower than typical sources.
