Maybe a new MG dealer CT
« on: March 12, 2019, 06:28:54 PM »
Ken Kaplan of Kaplan Cycle at the New England Motorcycle Museum in Rockville CT. said on a youtube video he posted on his way the Daytona that he is meeting with Guzzi people to talk about opening a dealership at the Museum location. Nice to hear of one may be opening and not closing plus it's 15 minutes from my house.

The museum is really nice.

I was there for the opening and a couple of weeks ago,

Less museum. More a collection of spent hardware and unsold helmets.
Perhaps a few of the antique/vintage bikes owned by others, found places inside the building. Perhaps to avoid a CT tax? Good site for winter storage?
I am an experienced sissy.... Having the local 1% club provide safe visiting service on opening day was seriously puzzling, plus the band was extremely loud.  R3~

I missed the Saturday opening, so went up the following day. Like a couple of other guys on hand, we found out that they were closed that very next day (Sunday). None of us were happy. So are they now open on Saturday -- and -- Sunday?

I agree with Bud. Looking through the window(s) it appeared to be somewhat of a haphazard collection. More of an assembly of miscellaneous bikes, instead of any type of interpretive theme of motorcycle history. I certainly do give them great credit for making it happen, but just sayin' … having spent a lot of time in transportation-related Museums. Not to criticize, but to simply help manage the expectation, if/when you go...

Guzzi dealership / museum

Is there some irony there?

Open times have always been on a catch me if you can basis; including a promise, or 2 lost. Kaplan needs to delineate in some fashion. Like our collective, recurring breakfast meetings. Hopefully he would get enough visitors and move enough cash to support the staff for one day each month. Being reliable is the first order of business.  R3~
