Go with Bell or Biltwell for retro styled helmets.
Another example of why on line purchasing is full of pitfalls.Again, if we all buy garbage on line to save a few measly bucks, the good old bike shop will not be there at 11 am on a Saturday morning when we are about to leave on a ride and find we need something. Then there’s the rotten caper of going into a shop and trying on helmets, finding the one you want and walking out, only to subsequently buy it on line.We sort of reap what we sow.Rant over..
I prefer to save face.
Where's it made? The answer to that question may say all that needs to be said.
I'm not sure. I forgot to check for an origin, before sending it back.
Their website indicates it's a US company but now days that's no indication of where a product is made or quality. They do get good rating and have some nice looking products.
Bad production run. It happens.
That's pretty unusual for a Scorpion helmet, looks like a production problem with that particular model helmet. I've owned two Scorpion modular helmets (Exo 900 Transformers) since 2012 and found them to be of good quality, comfortable and well made. I don't use them anymore as I've gone with a lighter carbon fiber modular helmet.
I've always liked the style of the Custom 500, but I also like some modern features, like a drop down sun shield. I ended up going with the LS2 Spitfire to replace the Belfast. Almost identical look, and has the drop down shield that I like. They didn't have a good white option, so I had to go with black, which I'm not crazy about, BUT, it's ECE certified, whereas the Belfast was only DOT, plus has removable liner, a modern, metal quick-connect buckle, and some ventilation, unlike the Belfast, which had none of those features. And it was about $40 cheaper.
Great for them to own up to it though, not the outcome I was expecting
what one? I've had 4 Exo 900's and loved them but I don't like the newer ones.
