"when I were a lad" in the UK I had a riders policy that covered me for any motorcycle, I only owned two but still. Dont know if they still do them.

I'm partial to this square headlight, sharp edged design form the early 80's.

In the late 80s I had a policy that covered me for anything I drove. That's not available anymore.

I had a friend with three bikes, all covered for the price of one. I had the same insurance company, but we lived in different states and they would't give me that option. I had to get on the computer and transfer from one bike to the next.

sdcr - I'm liking the LM3 better all the time. Still think the LM4 is one of the ugliest ever, and it's got a similar fairing, but the LM3 fairing looks better.

I have owned and ridden a lot of bikes in my time, (34 bikes in 52 years of riding), and here are just three examples of classics that I owned and rode in the past 5 years that are worthy of mention. All were 95% stock and had vintage plates (Arizona).

1970 Triumph T100 Trophy 500

1978 BMW R100RS "Motorsport Edition"

1978 Honda GL1000 - "The naked Gold Wing"

Love the Trophy!!! and a very rare Airhead!!!

The old saying "Beauty is in the eye of blah blah" holds true for the classic bike as well. I spend time working on and riding the older bikes that make me smile. Over restoration does not make me smile because a show is the only place you will see one. I brought my vintage W1 to Cedar Vale and enjoyed visiting with the folks that shared my enthusiasm for a vintage ride. Also enjoyed exploring the area on it.
Need to hose it off, tighten a few bolts and get ready for the next ride.
The older I get, the faster I was

A friend of mine is turning 50 this year and wanted to get his first bike. I scoured Kijiji for him and put him onto a 99  Triumph Thunderbird. He ended up buying it, and I gotta say I'm a little envious. For me, that bike stands the test of time: traditional knee-padded Brit styling with the engine that brought Triumph back to life in the '90s.  All the comforts of a cruiser without trying to look like it's from Milwaukee.
