Agree about the silly risers. attached a pic of my recently acquired 80th w/ sidecar added in 2005. I would love to begin a discussion with any other 80th owners about the "snooty" Poltrana Frau leather. Mine is in very good condition for a 2002 but leather doesn't tend to hold up well in weather over time. It is beautiful and this model went for a whopping 2k premium over a std Cali in '02. Be nice to learn from each other how best to care for it, have some covers made, deal with those goofy luggage latches, etc.
   It is a sexy machine for sure and she runs like a Guzzi. I am well pleased with the rig, although I'd love to ride one sans sidecar. Having a hack does not do this bike justice in the, er hmmm, handling category. The fellow I bought her from has the identical bike sans hack & I would love to get that 1 too. Perhaps.....

Your humorous reference to the asking price went WAAAAY over my head; were you saying the price might reflect the appreciated asking price 10 yrs from now? I think for an anniversary model, with those low miles, as rare as it is, is pretty close. Except for the risers, -1k $ for those.

When they came out, a friend was just about to buy the same year Harley (some big cruiser model) for significantly more $$. I tried to steer him to LOOK at the Guzzi instead, but he was born and raised in Brooklyn, so anything besides a HD was out of the question.

According to available info 200 were made, of which 35 went to the US. The Poltrona Frau saddle bags are somewhat narrow & won't come close to holding a full cov. helmet. I can attest they are waterproof at highway speed, and they are simply gorgeous. Perhaps way too elegant to be on a MC.
    The P. Frau bags have a clever little luggage type latch/wheel lock on the front- placed down low. It's impossible to see this latch to spin the wheels to your (2) selected secret 2 digit code. Hope you are blind and Braile trained, cuz you cannot see them while the bags are fastened in place. Remove the bags & you're ok. I set the code & taped over the wheels with industrial strength tape, so I can use the saddle bags easily. If I wanted to lock them, I'd load 'em up while removed, lock and then install them. Should they eventually deteriorate I'd seek to replace them with the standard type- roomier and EZ lockability.
