Well sorted Hydro or earlier EV

Thinking about adding one of these cruisers. I understand a well sorted, all recalls completed, Hydro is a good bike but would you choose a 98-02 over the Hydro? There are quite a few of each for sale for reasonable money.

A properly sorted Hydro is a very nice motor , but there isn't anything wrong with an earlier solid lifter bike . Mt personal preference would start with the 2000 models , better computer and the open loop Weber Marelli injection .

I loved my hydro. A Guzzi with a silent valve train is quite the novelty and they run so well!!

Very glad I choose a Hydro, but I suspect if I hadn't I'd be just as happy!
I reckon just look for the best deal closest to you and see how you feel about the bike and don't worry if it's a Hydro or not. You'll love it either way

My 04 is a Hydro... it's also my first and to date, only, Guzzi, but I love that bike.
As stated, once they had the bugs worked out, the Hydros are great machines.
