I have 4 Corbins setting on the shelf out in the garage. I find them slightly better than stock seats. I was looking at a used bike with a Corbin. I told the guy I'd have to knock a couple hundred off because of the Corbin. He was a little miffed but swapped it for something else and I bought the bike. I used a Saddleman Travelcade for a while. It was good for 400-500 mile days. I finally broke down and bought a new Russell. It was great from day one. It has about 250 K miles and is in need of a rebuild. My other 2 Russells are working wonderfully!

I've had a Corbin on my Griso for several years and love it. My mate Peter was so impressed he bought one too!

Then last year, knowing we were going to the US, I bought one for the Stelvio and had it delivered to Bill in VA as shipping to Oz was outrageous! We picked it up and bought it back but with Michael's accident putting him out of commission and the 1400-ification of the bike being put In abeyance I only got to put it on yesterday!

Still haven't ridden it with this seat as the Stelvio is leaking like a stuck pig and running like a sack of boiling excrement but once we have those little issues are sorted I'm looking forward to trying it!

I've used the stock seat on the Stelvio for a 2k mile tour and replaced the stock seat with a Corbin ...and i'm way happier.

I've had several Corbins in the past and all were an improvement over stock.

I've owned Sargeant's and Seat Concepts too. While both were better than stock neither were ad good to me as the Corbins. YMMV but I'll stick to a Corbin with a leather seating area.  :bike-037:

I have a Corbin on my OTG (other than guzzi)  I have to say its the best seat I've used for any length of time. Sargents on my Guzzi which is ok but not quite as good, also a Sargents on a Norton, still not the same.

Your bike really looks great.  I'd really like one of these but I worry it's too much bike for me.  Do you ride it daily?  How is it for commutes (short or long?).  Liked your 15k mile update post too.  Seat looks great.

It's more nimble than you might think. The only time you realize you're wresting an 800 pounder is in parking lots.

Yes I ride it daily when the weather permits. My main daily work commute is about 20 miles one way. It's sometimes 50 miles coming home though :)

I did a really long trip on it last year. 3150 miles in 7 days with my longest day being 850 or so. That's the trip I decided I needed the Corbin. The "comfort" Guzzi seat is decent, but not quite right.

Just an update on the Corbin seat. Worth every penny. They claim a few thousand mile break in but it is the best seat I've ridden right out of the box. Normally I will get a bit of fatigue after the first hundred miles and that would be it. Experiencing zero fatigue so far. Feel the same getting off the bike after several hundred miles as I did first swinging a leg over. Fit on bike seemed a bit tight at first but after riding it it pops back on with ease. Very pleased.

I also did find some riding pants. That was a major headache. Sizes are wonky and no brick and mortar stores around here carry any. Finally got some Sedici from Cycle Gear that fit. So far I like them.

Farmers sat in these for decades.  I love how people say a seat needs to get broke in..... sure it's not your body gets used to it?

i just bought one for blu on sat. from enzo at cadre, he is a dealer.  i have the standard and guzzi touring, both are soft.  the corbin is like all corbins, hard, but very well shaped.  i wrote about it in another thread so not going to repeat.  for me, great.

Look at all the surface area meant to cradle your behind.   That is why those are comfortable.  They are also spring mounted to absorb shock.

Today's bikes have such narrow seats because they look good on the showroom floor.

I have a terrible behind as far as distance riding. The best thing I've ever sat on by far is a tractor seat. It's not even close. Those rolled up edges are horrible when you need to put your feet down and are short, but on the road, no contest.

I just returned from a 5,500 mile ride through the Rockies and the Corbin on my BMW came through like a champ. By day's end, I was tired but not trashed and overnight recovery was the norm. The first four hours were so sublime each day, that I hardly gave the seat a thought. We averaged 393 miles a day on secondary roads for two weeks. The Corbin did it's part.

Corbin is a good seat after it breaks in. I used mine for both commuting and touring. A big difference for passenger comfort. I have it on a BMW R1200GS Adventure.

I have used Aerostich pants for years. Outstanding quality and fit. Fully waterproof. Easy on.

Just my ..02 cents.

Not so sure the Corbin breaks in so much as your butt does. To me a firm seat is a must for more than a couple hours in the saddle!! YMMV

Always wondered if the seat breaks in or our butt just get used to it!

I've had several Corbins, on my C10 Concours (1996) , FJR (2005 factory Yama option) and my Norge (2016).  I found the Concours seat hard, but broke in well after 10K miles (put over 100K on it)  The Yamaha Corbin was a straight up torture device...... It stayed hard as a rock. I had to wear cycling shorts to use it on LD rides.

I heard that Corbin made changes to the seat construction making it much softer out of the box, and found this to be true when I got the Norge seat. The seat was formed to my rear in the first 1K miles. It was solid, well built, and comfortable on day one and only got better over time. Sold it to a bloke off Craigslist and he loves it.  Put in my order for a Corbin on the MGX, but passed on the heat.

I've also had Sergeants and a Russel Day Long. Sergeant was better than stock, but not great. The Russel was good, but I didn't like the look.

My experience with Corbin seats has more to do with how they are laid  out vs the how the are made.

It's been my experience that lean you too far back and make the reach to the bars too far.  They seem to make everything for a Harley /cruiser.  So be attentive on the riding position if you don't want bar risers.  I understand that Corbin will custom make the seat, so I would be attentive to make sure the lay out was what a I expected.

They are hard but seem to wear well.  Folks swear by the quality.

It’s not about the seat, any seat, that adds miles per day. It’s the condition of ones arse;)

And they look good too.  My first trip on this seat was from Phoenix to Oklahoma City, Nearly  a thousand miles that day

. Somewhere in Texas at a fuel stop a fellow at the next pump asked me how I liked the Corbin. That was the first time I had thought about the seat all day. I was over 800 miles into my trip at that point.   Guess I like it

I like that color

He is a one man operation who builds quality seats.

I've been watching for a used V7III seat pan and will have Terry make me a custom seat for my carbon that has all the same fabrics and thread colors, but incorporates the old school king/queen style seating to extend my comfort time on the bike.
