Loop Key Switch Rubber Boot Replacement Maybe Solved
« on: June 17, 2019, 03:45:32 PM »
My Eldo and Ambo both have the original police style key switch on the side of the bike. They were both looking a bit rough.

So I went on a search for a replacement. I know that someone had a repro done, but they wanted like $50 or so for it. I took a few hours with Google images and searching sites for one that would do the job. I did find one.

It's the shift lever cover off a farm tractor. "Shift Boot for Massey Ferguson Tractor Models TO20 30 35 135 150 165 175 202 +". I found it fits a few other models as well. The P/N to search fleabay would be "Replaces Part Numbers: 1678565M2, 1678565M1, K929631". The size is listed as "Inner Diameter: 2" Length: 2 1/2" ", some say 1 7/8" ID.

It fit my wires fine, and the length is just about right, but it was a bit loose. So I made a quick fix with some electrical tape. Now it's nice and snug. (The first pic is with the boot held all the way to one side, when centered, it dosen't look as loose)

All done.

Depending on the seller, they can be had from about $7-$14, they seem to be all the same thing, just different prices.

Hope this helps someone,
Tom
