Any commitments ?
« on: July 10, 2019, 06:08:53 AM »
Is there anyone out there that has locked themselves into Mandello 2021 ?
Not so much, “I’ll have to see” or “it’ll depend on a couple of things”... but more like..
“Barring death in the intervening period, I’m gunna’ be there...”, (type of thing).

We’re all done...?
Jeez, lucky I booked, I’d never have gotten a spot ! Clearly it’s going to be packed out by Guzzi “devotees..”

Huzo,  I suspect , “any commitments ”  Being completely vague, will be overlooked by many board members.  It’s been shown via a poll on this board, the majority of us are more inclined to open a thread that is specific to what it is about.

That reads as if it's dripping with sarcasm, but I'm not sure why.  Yes; the place will be packed, and booking a room will be difficult.  It always is.  I assume you're referring to the open-house on the second weekend of September for the 100th anniversary and not the actual founding date of the company?

I'll be there, but I will be there either a week earlier or later than the big event (which is exactly what I'm doing this September to avoid the same deal).  I've been to the open house a number of times, and the poor folks at Agostini are running around non-stop.  I now find it easier (and calmer) to arrive the week before or after.

Have fun!

(Sorry; I didn't open the thread the first time as the title didn't mean anything to me)

More of a joke than a sarcastic retort Daniel  :thumb:
That’s a fairly standard type of response over here, but I do get your point. Here in Oz we tend to respond in the negative..
“How are you Huzo, good..?”
“Yeah, not bad..”

“The Centauro’s pretty quick..!”
“You’re not wrong mate, it’s not too slow..!”

“Jeez it’s freezing today..”
“Cn’oath, it’s not too warm...” That type of thing..

I'm 'planning' to go....  But 2.25 years out is a little early to be making firm commitments

See, I thought that made it EASIER to commit to because of the amount of time you have to save up and re arrange stuff.

Been to the raduno a couple of times, and - at my age - don't know if I will still make it.
What I DO remember, about 13 years ago, I agreed to meet the interested WildGuzzi board members at the lake, at the cannon.
Some of them turned up, others did not.
The whole time, they babbled in some unintelligible Texan or other accent.
Until today, I still wonder what the hell they were talking about ....

I will likely go but it's two years away so I'm not making any plans right now.  I really want to take my 1955 Falcone and I have a couple of mates who may join for a little Alpine tour and a chug over the Splugen pass for a day in Mandello.  I'm not looking for accommodation in Mandello area though, so no need to make any firm arrangements until mid 2021.

If you take that Falcone of yours, they’ll be showering you with rose petals....

I'll be there!
As for exactly when, I'll need some advice.
Daniel K says it might be wise to go one week before or after the actual  - -  occasion or event. What will I be missing if I follow his advice?

I take it that there is no exact informasion about what will happen in 2021, only a general anticipation that there will be something  - -  grand?
Exactly what and when is the raduno?

I'm thinking of picking a few days to be in Mandello, finding a place to stay, deciding how to get there / which bike to take; trying to find some other Norwegian guzzisti to join me (or I will join them), meeting WG board members - - -

Finding a place to stay in Mandello is probably out of the question, but maybe I can rent a small palace in Bellagio, or a room in Lecco?
