NGC- Recommendations for wood chipper

I live on 5 acres, mostly forested. I took over my parent's place when Dad decided he had spent enough of his retirement keeping the place up and they moved into town. My chipper seized up last fall, and rather than re-power or rebuild it, I am looking at heavier-duty options. I would love some expert advice on drum vs disk, PTO vs gas powered. I have a Kubota BX 2230 with just shy of 17hp at the PTO. Any brands that are pure junk? Any real good bang for the buck options?

How big will you chip?
I have a BCS with 13hp Honda, and a chipper/shredder that works very well.I think the BCS/Grillo compatible stuff at earthtoolsbcs.com is great, and Italian, and overpriced but I bet a trip to your local farm dealer should get you decent advice.

I pile it all up and then once or twice a year I visit the rental center and get the Godzilla chipper/shredder/thingy.
It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I have one of those big PTO chippers from Scandinavia (I can't remember the name). It chips up to 5" branches and has a hydraulic feed, but I think it requires a minimum of 22hp. I only seem to use it after hurricanes, but it works a treat. Two things, though: always work with a partner and be careful moving it. It's a really big piece of equipment and makes the tractor very difficult to maneuver. We have 8 acres and our tractor is a JD 4100...also sorta small.

There were a number of years in CT when you went to rent a wood chipper there was a sign in the rental center that said “If you rent a wood chipper your wife has to return it.”
