What Parts to Replace on Front Forks
« on: July 28, 2023, 08:47:35 AM »
I’ve purchased and received a pair of NTX 650 forks to experiment with on my V7. Besides the fork seals (40 x 52 x 10/10.5) and dust covers (same as a Cali 1100, LM1000, and V7 Classic), I’m wondering A) what else I should replace as a wear item and B) seeing that only a few NTX 350/650 were brought to the US, I’m wondering if, should the exact part # not be readily available, any of these wear parts be able to be replaced with similar 40mm fork counterparts? Like…from the V7 range?

Do you have a parts list? Page 559 of 676 shows the front forks:

Yup, I initially start with TLMN or this site:

https://www.motoguzzi.genuine-parts-catalogue.com/moto-guzzi-motorcycles/650-MOTO-GUZZI-MOTORCYCLES/NTX/1990/NTX/FRAME/Front-fork/406/17/297001242/936

Unfortunately there are some parts that are NTX-only. Still cross-referencing and matching stuff like updated part numbers/replacements. I reckon a few of the NTX-only parts may be unobtanium, thus why I wondered if some V7 40mm fork parts can be used.

The forks are Marzocchi and were used on other enduro bikes of the same period.Non Guzzi suppliers are more likely to have the parts ...here perhaps https://store.bevelheaven.com/Digital-Downloads/Parts-Manual-Marzocchi-Forks-Shocks-Digital-Download/

I've bought Marzocchi shock parts here, looks like they have fork parts as well.

Thanks, Charlie and Frenchfrog. I’ll dive into these. Maybe even send an email out to Marzocchi themselves.
